The Polis Chrysochous area boasts some of the cleanest bathing waters in the Mediterranean.
The beach is 7 minutes on foot from the Hotel, and the nearest organized beach is 15 minuteswalk away. The major town in the area - Polis is located a 5 minute drive away (15 min on foot) and has several banks, restaurants and bars, a local museum and a charming town square. Paphos is the closest city is half an hour away by car. Latchi Harbour & Marina is located a 5 minutes drive away (15 min on foot) from Akamanthea, is a relaxing place to go to for freshly caught fish at one of the many waterside restaurants after a swim at the nearby blue flag municipal beach offering a wide range of watersports and fishing. From the harbor boat trips leave regularly to take you around the coastline of the Akamas Peninsula, one of the few M editerranean nature reserves in Europe, this area has been left in its natural state and is ideal for walks along its many nature trails with splendid mountain and coastal scenery, flora and fauna endemic to the Mediterranean. Worth a visit are the Baths of Aphrodite where, according to legend, the goddess sported with her paramour
Adonis. Finally for culture lovers Akamanthea is situated ideally for short trips to several of the nearby villages with Byzantine churches, charming local traditions museum – or to see rural life at its best. The hinterland around Polis is possibly the most picturesque on the whole Island, and visits to Steni, Phiti, Lyssos and Neo Chorio are strongly recommended.
