Sunbird Nkopola Lodge
Sunbird Nkopola was officially opened in 1971 initially with twenty rooms at the hill side. Situated in the southern tip of Lake Malawi, Nkopola is easily accessible to both the Southern and Central regions by road, 220 km from the commercial city of Blantyre and 225 km from Lilongwe the Capital City. Today the hotel has seventy rooms. In the year 2011 the hotel took a bold step further and constructed a multimillion Lakeshore International Conference Centre. To enhance guest experience, the hotel has renovated all its bed rooms, introduced a fully equipped Gym, watersports facilities, upper class Malindi Bar. The newly refurbished rooms and big conference capacity provide an increasing pressure on accommodation bed rooms as such the hotel intends to embark in a project to increase its main lodge bed rooms from 70 to 200.
